Founded by David R. Mersereau (“Big Dave”), The Maris Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to helping dogs with degenerative diseases, arthritis, and mobility issues live better, fuller lives.

Our mission was inspired by Maris, our gentle, sweet loyal companion living with Degenerative Myelopathy. Through her journey, we saw firsthand how much love, care, and support can extend quality of life for a dog — and their people. This foundation was created with heart, hope, and a promise: No dog should suffer alone. Together, we’re building a future full of tail wags, second chances, and love.
